Allow Me to Introduce Myself: The Woman Behind "As We Go Along Mom"

Hello, there - my name is Christina, and I'm the woman behind "As We Go Along Mom." To kick off this blog, I figured I ought to start with an introduction.
I was born and raised in the Dallas Fort-Worth area and, outside of college, have been here ever since! My dad is American and my mom is Belgian - English is my native language and French is my second... though I really ought to practice the latter more often.
Outside of being a mom, I love the outdoors, baking, spending time with family, all things coffee, quality time with my girlies, talking about the enneagram, and listening to advice podcasts.
I met my now husband when I was 7 years old, I decided he was cute when I was 15 years old, I said I do when I was 22 years old, welcomed our son into the world when I was 30 years old, and welcomed our daughter three years later.
The 8 years between signing the marriage certificate and signing the first birth certificate were wonderful - we got to learn how to be adults together, and we explored a good bit of the world together while we were at it. Some of our favorite things to do together involve traveling and exploring in the great outdoors: hiking, camping, kayaking, etc.
We debated for so long whether we wanted to have kids, but one day I just felt ready to pull the trigger! Spoiler alert: we had a baby. Then, once the postpartum trauma faded (kidding, kind of!), we even decided to have another!
So here we are. We're now a family of four, and it's been the most joyful/humbling experience. I'm still shocked my just how much love you can feel for a child, and just how quickly it hits you! Figuring out what we're doing has been a whirlwind. And, as they always say, the second you get a groove... something changes!
The idea of starting a blog has been in the back of my mind for years. I was voted Most Likely to Become an Author for my 10th grade year book, after all. I enjoy writing, telling stories, sharing my perspective. And so I thought, "why not now?"
(Now that I'm a working mom and have less free time than I ever have before, ha!)
My goal for everything within this blog is that:
It's easy to find, navigate and understand - because we don't have time for anything else!
It avoids feeding any mom anxiety - because we don't need more of that!
It is open, considerate and nonjudgmental - because there isn't one way to be a good parent!
I sure hope that sounds good to you. Let's get started!
